| The State of Florida requires that all Security Officers hold a D LICENSE. A minimum of 40 hours of training as required by the State of Florida Department of Licensing pursuant to Section 493.6123 (1). Even though you need 40 hours, the State allows you to do 24 hours initially, then return within 6 months to obtain the additional 16 hours of training. Shield Training Company offers the initial 24 hours of training Cost is $75.00 and includes materials for the class, photos and fingerprints. The additional 16 hours of training costs $55.00 and includes materials for the class, photos and fingerprints. There are no hidden charges.
